This course prepares participants for CSWIP certification examinations required for welding inspection roles in the Oil & Gas and construction industries. You will learn proficient English speaking to enhance technical understanding and examination communication. The program covers welding processes, weld defects, NDT basics, inspection techniques, applicable codes and standards, documentation, and exam-oriented practice to improve certification success rates.
The CSWIP Preparatory Program prepares participants for CSWIP certification, covering CSWIP scheme overview and exam structures for CSWIP 3.0 and 3.1. Participants learn welding fundamentals including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes, and welding materials and consumables such as base materials, filler materials, electrodes, and wires. The program addresses weld defects and discontinuities, including types, causes, visual identification, and prevention methods. Inspection techniques are covered, including visual inspection tools, inspection stages, acceptance criteria, and limitations. Standards and codes (ISO, ASME, BS) and code interpretation are included. NDT fundamentals (UT, RT, MT, PT) are introduced, along with documentation and reporting including welding reports, inspection reports, WPS & PQR, and record-keeping. Exam preparation involves exam pattern understanding, question practice, mock tests, and viva preparation. Professional ethics, inspector responsibilities, safety awareness, code of conduct, and continuous development are also emphasized.
The module highlights how thoughtful planning can directly improve project quality, reduce accidents, and help projects finish on time and within budget.
Minimum 3-5 years of welding, fabrication, or inspection experience
